(minimum of 30 minutes 5 days/week)
Technical Training is time spent doing the drills outlined in the homework and involves touches on the ball (e.g. dribbling drills, juggling, roll overs, etc.).
(minimum of 10 minutes 3 days/week)
Strength Training is time spent doing exercises that make you stronger (e.g. squats, squat jumps, lunges and jump lunges). If you are motivated do additional strength training you could include other exercises such as push-ups, sit-ups, plank, etc.
Watching Professional Soccer
(minimum of 45 minutes/week)
This is time spent watching professional soccer matches and studying how they play the game. Pay special attention to how they pass the ball, shield the ball and move without the ball. Doing other activities or sleeping (Emily) while a soccer game is on, does not count as time watching soccer.
(Goal: 20 consecutive controlled juggles )
Consecutive juggles are counted only when using your feet. Try to use both feet as much as possible, but you are not required to alternate between them. Although you can’t count touches with the thighs, head or other parts of the body, you can use those parts of the body to keep the ball in play. You should only count controlled juggles, which means the first touch doesn’t count if you’re dropping it with your hands and the last touch doesn’t count. So count all of your foot touches and subtract two to get your controlled juggles.”
Team Training Goal
(20,000 minutes of training)
We have a goal as a team to spend 20,000 minutes on training before the start of the fall season. This is a combination of Technical and Strength training for the entire team.
